Thankful in November

I know I'm a tad behind on my blogging , seeing as Christmas was yesterday ;)  I guess I better catch you all up on what's been going on with Team Whitehead before we move into 2014 !

The October, November and December months are always busy months for us, with hunting, several birthdays, and holidays it gets a little crazy!
November this year started out with my best friend moving thousands of miles away to Australia.  As I was sad for the Keeton fam to leave Texas I was excited for their next  BIG adventure.  Who knows, maybe a Team Whitehead trip to Oz could be in our future ;)  Before they left we did get a nice afternoon together for lunch and enjoyed each others company.   That day I helped Brit pack up her life here in Texas and when it was time for me to leave (which I delayed for awhile), I knew it wouldn't be long before I wouldn't be able to hold my tears in and sure enough as we said "talk to you soon" I had to get in my car quick ;)  I think I cried all the way home and when I got home David was sure to be there waiting with a hug.  I sure do miss them everyday and glad that Skype is available....I mean how did people survive without phones and Skype !  We miss you Keetons!

One of the birthdays this month was our Mammaw's , we went out to eat to celebrate and enjoyed spending time with family ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMMAW, we love you !
Another event in November, was my mom and having the privledge to host a baby shower for Mrs. Ellie Mills and baby Riley.  Can't wait to meet this precious bundle of joy anyday now ;)

At the middle of November I took a week off from hunting , but of course the boys still went. I attended an Advocare event called Ladies Alive.  I had an amazing time with some amazing leaders on our team, and can't wait to see what 2014 will bring.  We had mentors and leaders that were pouring into us and teaching us how we can be champions of not only our life, but of others lives too and help people with their health and finances.  A quote that I took away from this weekend was from one of our leaders Dana Saldivar "You can accept what's handed to you, or you can design the life you are destined for."  Think about that this week :)

Many of the weekends in November involved hunting as I'm sure you know !  We even had the chance to hunt in about 6 inches of snow!  It was beautiful!  I loved having this weekend with my boys !

For those of you that know about golf, my brother made it to the 3rd and final round of Qualifying school to get on the Web.com Tour !  This was an awesome accomplishment for him, so his calendar now included California in December for his first time to the final round of Q-school.  More to come on that in the next blog.  So proud of him for going after his dream !

More birthday fun this month included Painting with a Twist with our good family friend Lauren Knox.  We had a lot of fun hanging with "the girls"and did a little Christmas painting to get us in the Christmas spirit since it was right around the corner.

Then, was my birthday and another year older...not much more to say about that ;)  Time is flying that's for sure :) !

Thanksgiving came and we had our yearly tradition of the Turkey Trot race on Thanksgiving morning.  This year my dad and I stepped out a little and ran the full 5k race in our gorilla suits with Santa hats, we had a blast!  Whitey didn't have a costume this year , but next year we are getting him in on the deal too!  He didn't act too embarrassed to be running with us though ;) Sometimes I think he is worried what he married into ;)

We went hunting the weekend of my birthday and that always seems to be my lucky weekend because I always get a kill for my birthday.  This year it was a doe for my first bow kill, I was pretty pumped and so was Whitey and my dad !  I think David was more excited for me than I was about my doe.  My dad also got a buck that weekend.  A successful weekend in the books!  Whitey's buck he was after is still on the loose, so maybe he will get him down on one of these last weekends of the year because he has hunted him hard this year.
Last birthday of the month was my mom!  Happy Birthday Momma ! It's always so special to me that our birthdays are so close together, love you !
So thankful this November for the busy life we lead, and lots of time with family and friends.  David and I are truly blessed !!!
