We had our yearly New Years/Pops birthday dinner. Definantly a special meal at the Howard house, there was laughter, tears from so much laughter, and more laughter! As you can see the guys were ready to grub down on some food !
Well toward the middle of January , David and I together made a decision that I was going to put in my two week notice at Alcon. I had been at Alcon for 8 years, so Alcon was all I knew and the people there were like family. There was a little fear in my decision because that is all I have done since I graduated from college and I'm not one that's big on "change", but I knew in my heart it's what needed to be done. I knew God would guide me through it and he did just that. I could not have done it without the support of my awesome husband. I'm excited to finally start using my degree and pursing the health and fitness world that I went to school for, so stay tuned to the blog.
David and I attended AdvoCare Regional Success School during January in Houston. We did a quick day trip to Houston to get trained by the best of the best and we are excited for what this year is going to bring for us and for others on our team that we are getting to help along the way with their health and finances. TEAM CHAMPION BUILDERS!
The week after Success School it was Rodeo time in Fort Worth , so in tradition we went to Bull's Night Out and had a blast !
During January we had several friends bring babies into this world, and since we were sick the first part of January we had to wait awhile to see them all. Finally we got to visit the Benolken Twins, and David wanted to take them home with us ;) I think he said because "They don't do anything but sleep". Oh boy is he in for a rude awakening some day ! ha ha
We finally got to have our Howard/Knox/Whitehead "Christmas dinner" in January, but we were missing one of the ring leaders, Pops who was home sick. Always a fun time with this crew...they are TRUE FAMILY and we love them so much !
Well the time had come January 30th, my last day at Alcon. It's crazy how my 8 years of memories came flooding back. The group gave me some things they thought I might need upon leaving ....let's just say we all know I don't cook and they continue to try to help me all the time. They presented me with a cookbook, measuring cups, apron, and of course some Pepto for David ;) They know me all too well. I was blessed to work with some awesome people and miss seeing their smiling faces.
After my last day we actually got up early the next morning and drove to Colorado for some sking. This was a great way to end January and celebrate our 2 year anniversary in February as well ! We had a blast and didn't want to come home!
Here is the start to our trip....I'll leave it at that until the February blog ;) I might be in trouble after posting this one :)
