Kase's first month is already here, and I can't believe how fast time flies! Here are some photos from his newborn shoot we had done. He did so good during the photo shoot, plus some other things that happened in 4 weeks!
During Kase's first month we had his 2 week check up and all was good he had gained a pound and grew some inches too. David had gone back to work so we were getting into somewhat of a routine, however Mr. Kase started throwing up food after he would eat and it got progressively worse where he would not only throw up after he would eat, but it would be throughout the day too...I called the doc and made an appt. When we went in and they checked Kase's weight he hadn't gained anything in 2 weeks since his check up. This brought some concern, and the doctor thought it might be what they call Pyloric Stenosis where the Pyloris muscle thickens and food can not get through to be digested so it has no where to go but up and out. So the doctor sent us directly to Cook Childrens Hospital to have a sono done of his stomach to see if that's what it was, at this point everything happened so fast. We got to the hospital and sure enough after the sono we had to wait for the doc to call me and he confirmed that's what was going on. They then sent us directly to the ER and put an IV in Kase and checked his electrolyte levels, if all were good they were going to do the surgery that day and sure enough all was good so they actually did the surgery within the next few hours. David was out of town for work so he headed back and was back when Kase got out of surgery. I will say that was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, putting Kase on that stretcher to send him off to surgery...talk about breaking me in to the mom world, I could not have done that without my mom by my side! He came out of surgery and we talked with the doctor and everything went perfect! We stayed the night in the hospital and started him on small amounts of milk to make sure all was good, then they sent us home the next day. Since then we have been home and our little guy is holding food down , so hopefully he will get back on track and start gaining weight and growing to be a big boy now :) Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!
Kase Riley is 1 month old, and we cant believe it! His dad and myself are some proud parents and we cant wait to watch him grow up and see what blessings the Lord has in store for him!
