June ...cruising through Summer!

Well as you see the title of this post is "The Good News From June"...well lots of good things happened in June.  Starting it off I got a phone call one afternoon and it was from my best bud Heather...aka Hojo.  The time she was calling was a time she normally is in class, but I knew they were wrapping the school year up so thought they may have had early dismissal.  As soon as I answer the phone I start talking loudly because I was so excited to talk to her since she is in south Texas (my other home).  Well, she starts yelling at the same time "I'M ENGAGED" !!!!!!!!! Even though we were both talking at the same time I knew what I had heard and I started screaming I don't even remember what ha ha.  I just knew that I couldn't be more happy for her and Vincent...she has found an amazing man to spend her life with and so glad he finally popped the question :)  He even gave her class ring pops, he is a keeper Hojo!

Other fun news is my other best bud Rachel is due with her baby girl in August so my Mom and I threw her a baby shower.  We had so much fun decorating and showering Momma and Miss Elsie, we can't wait to meet her!  She is loved already soooo much !!!  Aunt Ash and Uncle David are going to have to get her some hunting gear and add some camo to her wardrobe soon ;)

After the shower the next week I was scheduled to take my ACE Personal Trainer Certification Test...which I was SUPER nervous about.  If you know me, you know that I hate tests with a passion...the test could be "what is 2+2?" and I would have test anxiety!  I wanted this so bad, but knew that whatever was supposed to happen would and that God was in control.  I found out that as soon as you hit submit on your test, you would have your results right then and know if you passed or failed.  This scared me even more, I almost wanted to walk out not knowing so I could be care free for a few days ;)  Well that wasn't the case , so I hit submit and it said PASSED !!!  I went out and the lady gave me my Certificate and said Congrats.  I got in my car still in shock that I actually just passed :)  So now I can say I'm a Certified Personal Trainer!   I just started my website www.fitbyash.com so you can follow my blog posts etc. on healthy living, workouts, & anything fitness related.  Excited for this new adventure to see where God leads me to help change lives!
Here is a picture I took ... I had written this on my mirror in the bathroom and had it there ever since I scheduled my test (don't mind the dirty mirror).  Keep your goals in front of you always!
On the same day I had my test David got a new company car, we were so excited because it actually was new , had the new car smell and all...it may not have been a truck or SUV like he was patiently waiting for, but the first thing he did was go to Cabelas and get some camo floor mats for it.  Nothing like camo floor mats in a car...Sometimes we just have to do what makes us happy :)

June 14th came and this was 3 years since David and I got engaged in Vegas.  Crazy how time flies!  I remember that day like it was yesterday and that was the easiest question I have ever answered ;)  Sometimes in seasons of life we can't see what God has in store down the road , but all we can do is continue on in faith and obedience and he will put you on the path you need to be on.  I'm thankful I was on that path he had me on when I found David ...(thanks Lauren, oh and Kyle) ;)

Our bike ride this past month was in Springtown, it had some hills but we made it.  Getting stronger and stronger for Hotter'n Hell in August....bring on the heat and the 100 miles!

We cooked out for Fathers day and had a great time!  We are so blessed to have the amazing men in our life that we do. We are also blessed by the ones that are looking down on us from Heaven, because they are never forgotten, thankful for the time we were given with them and the many lessons that have been passed on.
David began softball season this month, not sure when they grow out of that stage ;)  just kidding...he loves playing and I think it's great that he is staying active because I love watching him play.  Before every game I tell him to "don't play stupid"...meaning don't try and make plays you know your body won't allow since we are getting older ;)  In other words don't get hurt!   He seems to listen sometimes ;)
See you all in July !

Almost Summer!

I've been slacking , I apologize and now that your reading this...well it's already summer !  Time just keeps getting away from me.  Well here it is hopefully short and sweet what Team Whitehead has been up to.
There were of course showers, weddings and birthdays in May, but then again I'm not sure what month doesn't involve these for us ;)
My friend Alina's shower with us having some photo booth fun !  I sure do miss getting to see these pretty ladies everyday.
We had some Max time in May and boy was he excited!
We celebrated our awesome Mom's on Mother's day!  We are truly blessed to have the best Mom's who are always there supporting us (Patty got in trouble yesterday though , and David says she grounded.  Let's just say now David understands a little more what he put his mom through as a kid).
David is still working lots of hours with plenty of claims to handle from those Denton storms so one night I got the chance to hang out with our Advocare team at our dream board night.  So blessed to be a part of this team with some amazing people who truly bring out the best in each other and support one another on this journey of helping others.
Well David started getting antsy as well as myself...so we decided it was time for Team Whitehead to make a trip out to Mildred and get away from the rush rush of the city for the weekend. We were so excited to hang out with friends, grill out (well sort of , right Stuart), fish, feed babies, ride 4wheelers and just enjoy the quiet of the country while hanging with close friends.  Neither one of us wanted to come home that's for sure!  Laura and Stu...we are moving in!!!!
We had another ride in April we did called The Honey Tour. It was a beautiful day for a ride and we even got Ty to come along ;)  He could have blown our doors, but he was nice and stayed with us slow people.  My dad was out helping on the course so he had to sit this ride out, but he managed to have some fun himself...everytime he would see us coming he would blow a loud air horn, we love our crazy Pops!

Miss Raeley's 1st birthday! She loved that cake!!
We didn't really do much for Memorial Day, but oh wait we did end up having a little fun after dinner in the Stockyards!  (Cole you missed out, although we know you would have been embarrassed to be with us).  Why be normal right !? ;)  I know my mom and dad probably won't like me for putting this picture in here , just keeping them young ;)
The last thing we did in May was attend an FC Dallas Soccer game with our Advocare Team.  We had a great time and were even recognized on the big screen !
See you all in a month!  Safe travels for everyone on summer vacations!!
