April

Sorry April is coming to you a little late seeing that we are almost in June...whoops ;)
We started April out by getting a call to help our good friends the Benolkens out with their twins.  Of course we said yes, how can you not want to help with those precious babies.  We brought dinner over to the house and as soon as we walked in and could barely say hi, Aaron started handing David and I babies and said here is a bottle :)  We loved every minute of it.  Especially getting to watch their big brother Wyatt run around and love on them.
Then, came the BIG STORM!  In April Denton was hit with a big storm that had high winds, and hail damage.  This put David to work double time!  Since then David has been working long hours including weekends and working so hard everyday....I'm so proud of him for how hard he works for us! He was rewarded in May actually and named Employee of the Month for his hard work and dedication, I'm a proud wife!!
Now when a storm comes heading our way , David and I are both watching the news making sure it's not going to hit Denton ;)  we don't even watch for Fort Worth ha ha just Denton.

At the beginning of April my Mom , my amazing friend Rachel and me headed to Canton to do some shopping for baby Elsie who is due in August.  This was Rachel's first time to Canton , so my Mom and I had a blast getting to show her around and pick things out for the baby and nursery including baby Elsie's first monogrammed onesie!  We might look a little rugged and wet in the pictures, but the rain didn't stop us :)

My friend Jessica is getting married this summer so it was time for us to shower her with love for her bridal shower near Austin.  My mom and I took a road trip down a day early so we could hit up our favorite place Gruene, eat at The Gristmill, shop at The Outlet Mall and also to see our birthday girl Heather.  It was a great weekend getting away to the Hill Country (my home away from home) with some of my favorite people!  Can't wait to be a part of Jessica and Charlie's wedding in July and see her in her marrying her best friend!

Since riding season started we completed another ride called Ride for the Heroes which was in Aledo. This was a great ride, with some rolling hills that we weren't a fan of , but overall the weather was great and we couldn't have asked for a better day.  Team Advocare is getting stronger on the bike and continuing to prepare for Hotter'n Hell 100 in a few months!

Easter came quick this year!  We had a great time with family enjoying the day, hunting eggs, eating, and hanging out.

At the end of April we attended Champions Day which was an event that was being held all over the country by different Advocare leaders.  This was a great time getting to hear amazing leaders of this great company share their stories, training tips, and motivate others to live positive lives that help others WIN AT LIFE !

Hope everyone's summer is starting out with a bang!  Keep cool !!

March Madness

March for us began with a 5k walk called "Choose Life" with our church family at 121.  This was a great start to March that we were able to walk for choosing LIFE and to be able to donate and support pregnancy resource centers in Tarrant County.   We had a great time and so glad that my mom joined us!

March began our biking season and we are excited to be putting in more miles this season and training for the HH100 (Hotter Than Hell 100 mile ride).  Can't wait !   I love that we enjoy riding together, as long as David doesn't leave me on our route ;) Watch for us on the road...loving our new jerseys as Team Advocare !
March also brought a few birthdays...
First was our Papa who turned 80 !  He is truly an inspiration to us, I hope that I'm on top of my game as much as he is when I'm 80...he never skips a beat!  We love him so much! Happy Birthday Papa!
The next birthday was David's mom...
So David didn't realize this was a "big" milestone birthday until a few hours before we were going to take her to dinner (I won't say the age Patty ;) ).  My idea was for us to surprise her and take her to her favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas, well we started driving there and decided last minute to go somewhere else quicker...somehow we got a little lost and enjoyed some time driving around before dinner ;)  We had a great time celebrating and are so thankful for her in our life!  Happy Birthday Momma P !
March brought on another passing in our family, my great uncle.  I hate that I have to say "another", but that has been our reality these past 2 years.  These times truly make you appreciate the time that God gives us with our loved ones, no matter if your tired or don't want to or your busy.  Our time on earth is short compared to eternity...my prayer is that we all sit back and take away our selfishness and put at the forefront of our minds this question "How can I make a difference for someone else?"  , "How can I show them love?"  ....Loving one another selfishly is something we all don't do enough.  Sorry to preach a little it's just that these events have really hit home for me.

On a happy note March brought about so many good things, including us getting to help others along their Advocare journey, seeing weight-loss that some haven't seen in years, others earning extra income, and others that made lifestyle changes to live healthier lives.  I truly love helping people get what they want and excited for who we get to help next !

See you all for the April Blog shortly :)
